Social Science

Activity Report of Social Science Club for 2024- 25 academic year UP Section 2024 inaugurated 25 years Social Science Club on 6/6/2024. On the occasion of June 7 Food Safety Day, an awareness class was organized by the club members to create awareness about the importance of food safety. On the occasion of World Population Day on July 11, a poster making competition was conducted in the UP section. Iza Maria ,Anjana Sajeesh won the UP category in the quiz competition held on the occasion of July 21 Lunar Day. To emphasize the importance of map learning, it was decided to set up a map board and social science observation book was organized in each class. A patriotic song competition and tableau was organized on the occasion of Independence Day and prizes were distributed to the winners on August 15. In connection with Gandhi Jayanti celebrations, quiz speech competitions were conducted at the UP level by conducting school parliament elections and giving prizes to the winners.

Mathematics

Math Club activities for the 2024-25 academic year began in June. Various competitions were planned to inculcate mathematical aptitude in children. Math quiz was organized for UP and HS sections on 19th June. Also on 04/07/2024 competitions like number chart, geometrical chart, still model and games were conducted.
Helping hand project started in the first week of August for children who are backward in mathematics. 3 days a week half an hour in the afternoon is set aside for this purpose. Children are trained through various games and various learning materials. In the month of August itself, training was started for the children participating in the sub-district science fair.
In the sub-district Mathematical Mela held in October 2024, UP section got Third Overall and HS section got Second Overall. HS section

English Club

An English club is an interactive platform where students come together to enhance their English language skills, explore literature, and cultivate creativity.

The English Club, under the expert guidance of Rose George, Lali Antony, Anjaly C M, Femi
Francis, and Fanchaya Francis, provides a vibrant platform for students to enhance their
communicative competence and self-confidence. Through activities such as debates,
theatrical performances, impromptu expressions, magazine and newspaper creation,
workshops, and working with still models, the club fosters holistic language development.

Hindi Club

The Hindi Club for the academic year 2024-25 was inaugurated on June 6. Gauri Nandana Yeh of 10.A was elected as President of the club and Niharika Yeh of 9.A as Secretary. Gauri Nandana Prem Chandy’s book “Nirmala” was introduced on the occasion of June 19 Reading Day. Hindi Day and Gandhi Jayanti were held jointly on October 5. Up & high school children participated in this. Poetry singing, dance and dancing were performed to indicate the importance of the national language.

Teens Club

On July 1, on the occasion of Doctors’ Day, Dr. Ajay Menon, Pediatrician at Ashwini Hospital, Thrissur, conducted an awareness class for children on the topic of ‘Monsoon Diseases and Hygiene’
On October 11, the ‘Anti-Drug Discussion’ organized as part of the Corner PTA at St. Joseph’s CGHSS at the Panamukku Kathina Mata Parish Hall was very useful for the adolescents and their parents. DANSAF Sub Inspector Sree Suvruthakumar led the discussion.
On November 1, the awareness class conducted for students at the Centenary Memorial Auditorium was led by Police Academy Thrissur East Sub Inspector Sree Sunil Sir.
On November 7, a health seminar for teenage students titled ‘Kutty Smart’ was organized under the leadership of Dr. T. M. Ananth Kesavan. (This is a joint program organized by Indian Academy of Pediatrics and Malayala Manorama Nalla Patham)
